Xiaomi's upcoming sports crossover, the YU7, is poised to become a formidable contender in the EV market in China and beyond
The new Xiaomi EV car received the necessary certifications from the MIIT platform of China, and they reveal some impressive specifications. The upcoming YU7 which is set to be released in China between June and July, will reportedly offer a top-of-the-line version with remarkable autonomy at 770 km.
The YU7 inherits the design language of the Xiaomi SU7
This Xiaomi crossover features elegant “teardrop” headlights, improved front bumper and aerodynamic profile. The semi-concealed door handles, the frameless mirrors and the ducktail spoiler with the insignia taillights with “halo” design further enhance its modern aesthetic.
The vehicle with length 4.999 mm, width 1.996 mm, height 1.608 mm and wheelbase at 3.000 mm, promises plenty of interior space for comfort.
Inside, the YU7 breaks away from traditional design and comes with a ultra-wide screen which will display all essential driving information, including range, speed and navigation.
As icing on the cake, one LiDAR sensor The roof-mounted symbol indicates advanced autonomous driving capabilities. However, versions without LiDAR will still feature autonomous driving technology.
Xiaomi's YU7 will be available in configurations single and dual engineThe top-of-the-line dual-motor four-wheel drive version will deliver combined 508 kW (691 hp), which allows top speed in 253 km/h.
There will also be a lower-power dual-engine option, which will offer 365 kW power, while the single-engine rear-wheel drive version will produce 235 kW power and reaches top speed 240 km/h.
Battery options include a battery pack NMC 96,3 kWh with autonomy in 770 km, in 760 km and 675 km, but also a larger battery pack NMC 101,7 kWh that will offer 670km, 750km and 760 km autonomy. There will also be a LFP battery for the version of an engine.
