Xiaomi has launched the Track Rail Socket on its Crowdfunding platform in China (known as Youpin), with prices starting at 39 euros.
The Track Rail Socket Xiaomi is available in three versions of 50cm, 75cm and 100cm. Each Socket can transfer maximum power at 8000W, and each adapter (plug) can carry power up to 2500W and many high-power electrical appliances can be connected at the same time.
In terms of safety, the new product is equipped with a protective door that automatically opens and closes in case of replacing or adding an adapter. After removing the adapter, the protective door closes automatically, effectively preventing children from accidentally touching it, while reducing the entry of smoke and dust.
The socket material is made of insulating rubber that tightly wraps the adapter terminals to isolate the body shell, and the groove opening is connected to the ground wire to reduce the risk of accidental touch.
The extremely narrow design of the reception in 4,4 mm prevents accidental insertion of fingers. The copper sleeve inside the device is made of a special flame retardant material and has successfully passed the tests of the glow wire at 960° C.
In terms of ease of use, the adapter is not limited by a fixed position and users can increase or decrease the number of adapters they connect according to their actual needs.
The inner and outer rings of the device are designed to be separated, and the power supply can be turned on and off by rotating the outer ring.
Easy unlocking and disconnection are supported. When the adapter is rotated, the plug does not rotate with it and is not easy to loosen and fall off.
