The president of Xiaomi, Lu Weibing, confirmed that the company plans to release a new XRING mobile processor every year
Speaking at CNBC, The Lu Weibing outlined an aggressive strategy to conquer the high-end technology market by designing a custom SoC, starting from the chip XRING O1 at 3nm.
The company also intends to develop a specialized artificial intelligence assistant for overseas markets to expand beyond Xiao Ai's domestic software. This ambitious timeline is in line with industry leaders and marks a significant upgrade for Xiaomi's future devices.

The decision to upgrade chips on an annual basis represents a huge business move for the tech giant. While previous statements from executives expressed reluctance about annual releases, the current strategy fully aligns Xiaomi with its top competitors in the market.
Xiaomi's next strategy
- Annual XRING updates: Xiaomi will design and release a new version of its custom processor every year.
- Global AI Assistant: A brand new artificial intelligence tool will be made available to international users, and will be released alongside Xiaomi electric vehicles in global markets around 2027.
- Google Gemini Integration: Artificial intelligence software in the global market will likely use its models Google Gemini combined with Xiaomi's proprietary system algorithms.
- Unified Ecosystem: Upcoming smartphones in China will first combine the XRING processor, the new Ai assistant and Xiaomi HyperOS before their full global release.
The new XRING O2 will be released this year
Xiaomi introduced the processor XRING O1 in May of last year, while now it seems that the company is preparing for its successor.
According to the well-known leaker Digital Chat Station, Xiaomi will "definitely" release a new chip under the XRING brand this year, possibly called XRING O2.

Like its predecessor, it is said to be manufactured using the process 3nm by TSMCAlthough the name has not been officially confirmed, it is expected to be the direct successor to XRING O1.
