Xiaomi has registered the Self-Install Smart Lock on its global website, highlighting an upcoming launch in markets worldwide
Xiaomi's new smart lock is designed to fit over an existing door lock, and this smart home device allows you to unlock your door in multiple ways, including using fingerprint scanner.
Moreover, it is compatible with Google Matter, meaning it will integrate easily with many smart home ecosystems.
This new smart home product is designed to turn an ordinary door lock into a smart lock. Available in two parts: a mechanical locking device and an accompanying keypad.
There are many ways to unlock a door equipped with the Xiaomi Self-Install Smart LockYou can set a permanent or temporary password using the keypad or use the built-in fingerprint scanner which is said to offer recognition rate 99.3%.
You can also unlock the door remotely via brand's smartphone app, with voice commands or with a spare physical key. The product supports Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connection, with users being able to use the app to remotely check the lock's status or receive notifications when certain family members return home or if the lock has been tampered with.
Another feature of Self-Install Smart Lock is automatic lock, although the company notes that an additional door sensor is required for this feature. Typically, the door is locked with a single press of the button. Xiaomi says its smart lock is very quick to install, requires no drilling, and is compatible with both key and knob locking mechanisms. With ecosystem support Smart Home & HyperConnect of Xiaomi, as well as the Matter protocol, this device can be connected to a wide range of smart home devices.
Xiaomi has not yet announced its release date. Self-Install Smart Lock on the global market, however, since the device has already been posted on the company's global website, it should not be long before it appears on European store shelves.
