Today, the Xiaomi started one recall program via software update (OTA), for the standard version of Xiaomi SU7 in China

- 12.117 vehicles with model code XMA7000MBEVR2

The relevant authorities in China confirmed total 255 complaints regarding the problem identified. Xiaomi Auto officially stated that this “recall” of vehicles can be easily completed via a free over-the-air (OTA) update to the vehicle’s software, without the need to transport the vehicle to one of the company's authorized workshops or stores for inspection or repair.
Xiaomi will notify owners of affected vehicles via email.text messages (SMS & MMS), or mobile applications etc. Users will also be able to call its customer service Xiaomi Automobile Technology Co., Ltd. at 400-182-6888 in China to get more information about this recall via OTA, and this method simplifies the recall process while minimizing inconvenience for vehicle owners.
Η Xiaomi Car also stated that the cause of the problem was identified immediately after the first incident that occurred on 14 November. The problem seems to have been caused by a synchronization anomaly in car software caused by a occasional cloud service failure.
Following this incident, Xiaomi confirmed that all preventive measures have been effectively implemented through the cloud service and additional protection measures have been added for smart parking assistance. Xiaomi also officially confirmed that the all possible risks have now been eliminated.
