Xiaomi just launched on crowdfunding (Youpin) platform in China, the new smart glasses Mijia Smart Audio Glasses 2
The campaign on Xiaomi's crowdfunding platform will start in China with a starting price of 999 yuan (~ 130 eurosThe new version of the company's smart glasses is the replacement for last year's model, and introduces several significant improvements in terms of design, comfort and functionality.
The Mijia Smart Audio Glasses 2 focus on a minimalist and modern design, making them suitable for everyday use. The frame arms have been reduced to 5 millimeters, resulting in being against 26% thinner at the narrowest point and against 30% thinner at the widest point from the previous version.
They weigh just 27,6 grams and Xiaomi has optimized the weight distribution to reduce pressure on the nose, ensuring fatigue-free comfort even after prolonged use.
The frame features an extremely flexible flat steel hinge, developed after various tests over a period of 12 months to ensure durability and reliability. Xiaomi claims that the structure can withstand 15.000 opening and closing cycles without suffering any damage. In addition, the new second-generation quick-release mechanism reduces the size of the hinge by 70%, allowing you to change lenses with one hand.
The glasses are available in five stylish styles : Aviator Metal, Hybrid Browline, Boston Classic, Hybrid Aviator and the modern Deep Space made of titanium.
From an audio perspective, Xiaomi has made several improvements, as the new smart glasses now feature optimized acoustic structure, with an array of four microphones which, thanks to smart algorithms, improve call clarity. A new privacy mode uses reverse sound waves and anti-loss membranes, while significantly reducing sound leakage, preventing other people from hearing the sound when using calls. This special privacy function can be easily activated through the app Mijia Glasses.
Another new feature is the audio recording function – where with a simple long press on the bars, recording is activated and allows you to take voice notes immediately, without having to use your phone. To ensure transparency and privacy, a special notification light will light up whenever recording is active.
Xiaomi's new glasses also have certification IP54 rating for dust and water resistance, while also having a built-in voice assistant and supporting real-time translation.
The Mijia Smart Audio Glasses 2 have a built-in battery capable of providing up to 12 hours of music playback, 9 hours of talk time and 12 days of standby time.
They have one magnetic charging system type 2C which allows the battery to be fully charged in just one hour, while a single 10-minute charge provides up to four hours of use.
