As the battles for the best hardware in the smartphone market quickly give way to competition for software and artificial intelligence, tech giants continue to showcase their innovations in this area.

The vision of going beyond typical voice assistants and turning devices into true "autonomous smart assistants» is finally emerging with concrete steps.

Η Xiaomi, one of the leading names in the smart device ecosystem, officially announced the MiClaw, a brand new and highly capable artificial intelligence agent developed for smartphones. Going far beyond being just an assistant, this new technology is set to radically transform the way users interact with their mobile devices.

The large MiMo language model and the reasoning-inference loop

Built in Xiaomi MiMo Large Model, a powerful architecture developed by Xiaomi, the MiClaw is not just a simple question-and-answer bot. It functions as an intelligent agent with system-level permissions that can take action. At the core of the system is a revolutionary engine that the company calls "conclusion-execution loop".

So what does this mean in practice?

What does MiClaw offer?

The MiClaw first analyzes a complex or non-specific command given by the user, then determines which of the most 50 built-in system tools needs to use, sets the necessary parameters and starts the process itself.

If a task requires multiple steps (for example, opening an app and copying specific data, then compiling that data and sending it as a message via another app), the AI evaluates the result obtained at each step and manages the process on its own until the task is completed flawlessly.

The new brain of the ecosystem «Human × Car × Home»

The ecosystem «Human × Car × Home» Xiaomi's , in which the company has invested heavily in recent years, is being taken to a whole new level with the MiClawThis assistant can autonomously call third-party apps and system tools with user permission, while also offering deep integration with devices. IoT (Internet of Things).

The system, which can translate complex machine language from devices into natural human language, can automatically manage all smart home devices according to real-time scenarios. Furthermore, thanks to personalized context understanding, it can provide proactive services by drawing logical conclusions from users' messages, calendars and daily habits.

While all these processes are taking place, security and privacy are maintained at the highest level. Sensitive user data is processed locally on the device without being sent to the cloud.

An architecture that learns and evolves on its own

One of the most striking features that distinguishes the MiClaw in the smartphone market is the ability self-developmentEquipped with an advanced file-level memory system, the platform stores the experiences it acquires over time, allowing it to better understand its user with each passing day.

It even includes flexible features, such as creating sub-agents for specific tasks and the dynamic configuration of open standards (such as MCP servicesAs a result, the performance and understandability of the system improves the more it is used.

The first closed BETA tests have begun

Of course, such a complete autonomous system that interacts directly with hardware is still in its early stages. Xiaomi stated that the MiClaw is currently an advanced experimental project and has been put into a very limited closed beta test, accessible by invitation only, before it is released for general use.

Extensive optimization work is still underway on the system's success rate in complex tasks, power consumption balance, and overall stability. For this reason, company officials strongly advise tech enthusiasts who are accepted into the testing program to not to install this update on their primary devices that are used dailyIn demanding scenarios, processing fluctuations or temporary failures may occur.

For now, users included in the closed beta test must download a special system version update. Since the MiClaw requires significant processing power and advanced hardware, currently limited to the company's latest flagship models.

The list of supported devices includes:

  • Xiaomi 17
  • Xiaomi 17 Pro
  • Xiaomi 17 Pro Max
