At an event held in Barcelona, Xiaomi expanded its Xiaomi global series 17 along with a new device called Xiaomi Leica Leitzphone

Despite the fancier name, this device is essentially the international version of the exclusive for China Xiaomi 17 Ultra Leica Edition, with some changes intended for global markets.

The technical specifications of the Xiaomi Leica Leitzphone

The biggest difference is in the battery size, as the Chinese version has 6,800 mAh batteryWhile Leitzphone and the normal one Xiaomi 17Ultra both have a battery cell in them 6,000 mAh.

The Leitzphone available in a single black finish with a fully black back panel and available in only one configuration: with 16 GB of RAM and 1 TB of storage.

As for the rest of the specifications of the device, they remain identical to the Leica version sold in China. The phone is equipped with the processor Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 and Xiaomi's HyperOS 3. In front, there is a 6.9-inch “HyperRGB” OLED LTPO display with adaptive refresh rate at 1–120 Hz. The cameras are, as expected, the focus of the device and the Leitzphone features a 50 megapixel front selfie camera and a triple rear camera setup co-developed with Leica. The main sensor is a 1-inch type module at 50 megapixels, which is combined with a 200 megapixel telephoto lens with variable focal range between 75 mm and 100 mm and with one Ultrawide camera at 50 megapixels.

Xiaomi has also added a Leica's natural rotating camera ring around the camera island. It allows users to adjust zoom and exposure manually. There is also a special Leica Essential mode that aims to recreate the look of classic Leica cameras, such as the Leica M3 and M9.

The phone supports wired charging at 90W and wireless charging at 50W. It brings IP68 Rating certification for dust and water resistance and includes an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner under the display. Features include Dolby Atmos support, the stereo speakers and Hi-Res audio support for both wired and wireless listening.

For users who want to get the feel of professional photography, the Leitzphone is compatible with Photography Kit Pro by XiaomiThe accessory adds a battery at 2,000 mAh and a handle that looks more like a camera, with physical controls.
