Xiaomi is expected to shake up the flagship market with the Xiaomi 18 Ultra next December
New information suggests that the device may feature the new Xiaomi's Xring O3 chipset codenamed “Lhasa“. This Xiaomi SoC will feature a redesigned three-layer CPU architecture with clock speeds exceeding 4 GHz and will offer at 25% GPU performance boost in relation to the previous generation.
The new Xiaomi's Xring O3 chipset aims to compete with top-of-the-line chips from Apple and Qualcomm.
The Xiaomi 18Ultra is expected to become the ultimate showcase for Xiaomi's ambitions in the camera sector.
A new leak from a well-known tipster suggests that a specific variant of the upcoming flagship will debut alongside the Xring O3 designed by Xiaomi, to challenge other SoC manufacturers, such as Qualcomm, Samsung and Apple.
However, the top Xring O3 SoC Xiaomi can exclusively power the Chinese variant of Xiaomi 18 Ultra and we won't see it on devices released in other countries.
“Camera monster”: Focus on the ultimate photography
The Xiaomi 18Ultra seems to continue the company's tradition as "flagship room". The information refers to:
- Main camera up to 200MP
- Advanced periscope zoom also up to 200MP
- Improvements to the ultra-wide sensor
- Collaboration with Leica for even better image processing
At the same time, there are indications that Xiaomi is considering either a quad-camera setup, or significant developments in optical zoom with new technology.
Screen, battery and top features
The Xiaomi 18Ultra is expected to come with:
