Samsung announced today that it has begun mass production of its fastest PC SSD
Samsung's new NVMe SSD is based on PCIe 5.0, has model name PM9E1 and offers the industry's highest efficiency and largest capacity, the company claims.
Samsung revealed that the new SSD is equipped with controller based on 5 nm which supports the 8th generation V-NAND technology. It aims to provide "strong performance and improved power efficiency, making it the optimal solution for AI-enabled computing."

The PM9E1 provides 14,5 GB/s read speed and 13 GB/s write speed, enabling a multitude of data-heavy AI applications.
Samsung will offer the new PM9E1 SSD in several storage options, including 512 GB, 1 TB, 2 TB and 4 TB.
In the area of SSD security, the company equips it with various protocols such as Secure Channel, Device Authentication and Firmware Tampering Attestation. These technologies prevent supply chain attacks during production or distribution processes.
Samsung will first supply the new PM9E1 SSD to all PC OEMs, and later it will be available in stores worldwide, but under a different name, such as 1090 PRO or something similar.
