A few words about RIS/PACS
The RIS/PACS (Radiology Information System/Picture Archive and Communication System) ensures the secure reception, storage and retrieval of radiodiagnostic examinations and opinions and covers all of the country's 112 hospitals.
The project, with a total budget of 29 million euros, is expected to be completed on 1ο quarter of 2025 and in its full operation it will give citizens the possibility to access their exams through gov.gr. Particular emphasis has been placed on the possibility of sharing examinations, facilitating the cooperation of Health professionals, without geographical limitations.
The production operation of the system started in December 2023 from the Ptolemaida Hospital and has since expanded to cover 60% of the country's hospitals today. A key role in the development and operation of RIS/PACS is played by the Governmental Health Sector Cloud (H-Cloud) in which all the required applications have been developed and in which tests and diagnoses are stored.
