Xiaomi officially announced the REDMI K90 Max, a device that introduces active cooling technology and features a range of high-tech specifications, tailored for performance and gaming
The REDMI K90 Max It is constructed with an aluminum alloy frame and features an ultra-narrow bezel design, complemented by a minimalist opening, to accommodate its new internal cooling system.
The device is available in three color options: in Space Silver, Shadow Black and Sky Blue colors, while in terms of durability, the smartphone has an all-metal structure and is certified with IP66, IP68 and IP69 Ratings for dust and water resistance. In addition, the internal mechanisms of the device have reportedly passed a 50,000 hour endurance test.
Active cooling system
A characteristic feature of REDMI K90 Max is its built-in fan for heat dissipation, a first for a Xiaomi smartphone. The device uses an independent sealed air duct system to better manage thermal loads.
The basic specifications of the cooling system include:
- Fan size: A large 18.1 mm fan, which is said to be 6% larger in diameter than mainstream fans found in smartphones.
- Design: It features a vertical air intake and forward-tilted fan blades designed for better airflow under pressure.
- Airflow measurements: It produces an airflow of 0.42 cubic feet per minute (CFM), which is noted to be 1.3 times greater than that of comparable competitors.
- Airflow duct: It incorporates a simulated swirl airflow duct to minimize turbulence, achieving an airflow utilization rate of up to 78,6%.
- Direct cooling: According to Xiaomi's test data, the high-speed cooling function can reduce the device's temperature by 10°C in 100 seconds.
- Noise management: The fan offers three adjustable speed modes. At the highest speed, the nominal noise level reaches 32dB.
Xiaomi states that this new cooling system allows the device to maintain stable frame rates over extended periods of gaming compared to competing models.
