Xiaomi, in partnership with Qualcomm, announced the Redmi A4 5G at IMC (2024) held in India
That's it Redmi A4 5G will make its debut in India as the first smartphone in the country to be equipped with the new Qualcomm's Snapdragon 4s Gen 2 SoC at 4nm.
Of course, this device is placed in the low-budget Smartphones, which combine connectivity in 5G networks, while at the same time they offer quite good performance for their price.
Redmi A4 5G specifications:
The phone is built around a 6,7 inch LCD screen with analysis HD + and refresh rate 90 Hz. As for the back of the device, the company is making the Redmi A4 5G available in two different color options.
Although Xiaomi did not reveal the full specifications of the device, it is expected to pack one battery at 5000 mAh and to support her charging at 18 W, which is a significant upgrade over the Redmi A10's 3W.
As mentioned above, the new Qualcomm Snapdragon SoC brings a significant improvement in performance compared to its predecessor. To give you an idea, the Snapdragon 4s Gen 2 SoC scores above them 800 and 1900 points respectively as a test score single and multi-core on Geekbench, that is, it has more than double the scores of the Helio G36 SoC (at 12nm) that the Redmi A3 has.
But in addition to the better performance, the Snapdragon 4s Gen 2 SoC is made with the lithography method in 4 nm, and this has the effect of offering much better power management, which in turn will lead to a significant improvement in battery life.
The CPU consists of two powerful Cortex-A78 cores timed up to 2 GHz and six Cortex-A55 performance cores; chronicled in 1,8 GHz.
As far as the cameras are concerned, the device has one on the back dual camera setup which includes a main camera at 50MP and an undisclosed secondary sensor.
The main camera should offer fairly detailed shots in well-lit environments, and there's also one Selfie camera 8MP on the front. Unfortunately, the company did not reveal anything more about the rest of the device's specifications.
Prices and availability:
While the company hasn't revealed the exact price of the device, it has confirmed that it will be priced under Rs 10.000 (~$118 / €109) and will be available in the Indian market "soon".
To recall, the Redmi A3 was released in February this year, so, we can expect that the Redmi A4 5G it will be released early next year or late this year.
