Official Nürburgring lap times announced: Xiaomi SU7 Ultra sets new records

We have good news for performance car enthusiasts — especially those watching the rapid rise of Chinese electric vehicles.


The Nürburgring Nordschleife officially published the certified lap records for 2025 and two Chinese electric cars secured separate spots on the list.

The Nurburgring confirmed that this year's ranking extends to 11 vehicle categories with 14 officially certified lap times, all completed under the supervision of TÜV Rheinland and certified notaries, ensuring complete reliability and accuracy.

Xiaomi SU7 Ultra breaks records in two categories

The Xiaomi SU7 Ultra made an impressive appearance on the legendary track. The original version of the vehicle claimed the class record with an amazing lap time 6 minutes 22.091 seconds.

Meanwhile, the production version equipped with racing kit secured the record the category of luxury pure electric vehicles, completing a round in 7 minutes 4.957 seconds — making it as the fastest luxury production EV which has been officially recorded on the track.

Yangwang U9 Xtreme dominates the electric supercar category

The Yangwang U9 Xtreme also made headlines by setting a new benchmark in the pure electric supercar category, noting lap time 6 minutes 59.157 seconds.

The U9 Xtreme released in just 30 units worldwide, it is manufactured in ultra-high voltage platform at 1200V and is powered by four high-performance electric motors, producing over 3000 Ps combined.

  • Luxury (Purely Electric):
    7: 04.957 - Xiaomi SU7 Ultra (Race kit)
  • Fastest record holder overall:
    5: 19.546 - Porsche 919 Hybrid Evo (2018)
  • The fastest mass-produced, street-legal car:
    6: 29.090 - Mercedes AMG ONE (2024)
