FIRST® LEGO® League Open International Championship (Results)

Over 600 participants from around the world at the FIRST® LEGO® League Open International Championship!


At 02 – 04 May 2025 was carried out World Robotics Championship FIRST® LEGO® League Open International ChampionshipIt was an organization of the educational organization Eduact, national organizer of FIRST® LEGO® League in Greece, Cyprus and Balkan countries under the auspices of the Ministry of Digital Governance, bringing the best teams in the world to The Ranch in Sofiko, Korinthia.

The FIRST® LEGO® League Challenge is the largest educational robotics competition, for children aged 9 to 16 years involving annually 440.000 children to more than 110 countriesIt is designed to help children discover and love science and technology in the most fun way, gaining confidence in their abilities and believing in themselves, while teaching them valuable life skills.

The 50 top teams from around the world, having distinguished themselves in national competitions, competed in the only World Championship in Europe, combining the STEM robotics and technology with the themed experience offered by The Ranch.

The Greek teams distinguished themselves both for their competitive performance and for their values, demonstrating the dynamic and quality of Greek teams in global educational robotics. Specifically, the team GRoboDivers conquered her 2nd place in the overall standings – Champion's Award, the most important prize of the Competition.

In total, five teams from Greece participated, worthily representing our country and receiving positive comments for their innovation and positive impact on society, as well as for the programming, engineering design and social skills they cultivated and demonstrated.

The Greek teams in detail:

STELLAR MECHANICS – 3rd place in the Motivate Award (iMAGINE LAB, Amfilochia)
talodia (TALOS – Magnet Ark, Volos)

More than 800 participants, coaches, parents and volunteers were hosted at The Ranch facilities, enjoying Robot Games, Innovation Project presentations, Shows and excursions to the surrounding area. The international activities included a special video clip night, where the teams presented inspiring elements from their country's culture, as well as a collaborative hidden treasure game that enhanced teamwork and intercultural interaction.

Beyond the competition, the event was a once-in-a-lifetime experience for the participants, as they all lived together in a shared space, exchanged ideas, created friendships, and were inspired by the stories and practices of other groups. The shared living and intercultural dialogue reinforced the concept of a global community around STEM, turning the competition into a truly unforgettable experience.

At the Competition they honored us with their presence and awarded prizes the minister Digital Governance, Dimitris Papastergiou, the CEO of FIRST®, Chris Moore, the LEGO® Education Partnership Manager – Competitions, Lowri Walton and the President by Eduact, Costas Vassiliou, reinforcing the message of global collaboration and innovation.
