Xiaomi officially announced a new update to HyperOS for its series Xiaomi 17 Pro, which focuses on festive interactions for the upcoming Chinese Lunar New Year and camera improvements
This update takes advantage of the unique secondary rear screen found on the models Pro and Pro Max 17 series, turning it into a dynamic hub of notifications and interaction.
These premium features remain exclusively available in the domestic Chinese market.
Festive back screen functions (for the new Lunar Year)
The new update at HyperOS 3 which will be released in mid-February will give new interactive capabilities to the secondary screen located in the rear camera island, and will gain new interactive features designed to celebrate the Spring Festival in China.
- Daily wallpaper change: From the first to the seventh day of the Chinese Lunar New Year, the back screen wallpaper will be automatically updated on 0:00 daily, keeping the festive atmosphere fresh.
- New Year's Eve countdown: On New Year's Eve, a special countdown will begin at 23:55When the clock strikes midnight, virtual fireworks will light up the small screen.
- Gesture fireworks: Users can remotely trigger a fireworks display using gestures. Users simply need to make a fist shape and then open their hand in front of the device's rear cameras to "activate" the digital fireworks.
