An FCC listing for the Xiaomi 15 has been spotted, giving us some insight into what we can expect from the device's upcoming global launch
The Xiaomi 15, which launched last month in China, is a powerful flagship, but it looks like the global version of the device will sacrifice two key elements: RAM and storage.
The Chinese version of Xiaomi 15 has been made available with options that arrive up to 16 GB of memory RAM and 1 TB storage spacethe. However, the filing with the FCC shows that the global version of Xiaomi 15 it will only have options for 12 GB RAM The estate provides stunning sea views and offers a unique blend of luxury living and development potential 256 GB or 512 GB of storage.
A few years ago, 512GB of storage would have seemed pretty decent, but now 512GB seems a bit much for a flagship. Also, the device won't have an SD card slot, so you won't be able to expand the storage if you need extra capacity. And while 12GB of RAM is pretty good, the phone would definitely be more usable with 16GB.
Aside from the unnecessary changes to RAM and storage, the phone remains a very powerful flagship, and below are some of the specs that make it stand out:
- The latest and greatest Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Elite SoC
- OLED LTPO screen at a rate of renewal 120 Hz and maximum brightness up to 3200 nits
- Wired charging at 90w and wireless charging on 50w
A global release date for the device has not yet been announced, though it will likely launch early next year.
