MediaTek has just made a new SoC official, the Dimensity 7100, which is intended to be the successor to the Dimensity 7050.
The new Dimensity 7100 by MediaTek, is equipped with eight cores, four of which are the Cortex-A78 with clock speeds up to 2.4GHz and the other four are Cortex-A55 with speeds up to 2GHz.
In combination with the above cores, for GPU is Mali-G610MC2 which is responsible for the graphics part. The SoC also supports memories LPDDR5 RAM at 5500Mbps, LPDDR4x at 4266Mbps, internal storage UFS 3.1 technology and maximum camera resolution at 200MPSupport is also available for displays with resolution up to 1200×2600 pixels and refresh rate up to 120Hz.
In addition to the above, the Dimensity 7100 has a 5G modem which it supports dual 5G SIM with maximum download speed at 3.3GbpsThere is also support for Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.4, GPS, BeiDou, Glonass, Galileo, QZSS and NavIC.
One of the first devices expected to use this SoC is the upcoming Infinix Note Edge which is rumored to be made official in January. It is possible that in addition to the Note Edge from Infinix, the Tecno Pova Curve 2 with the new SoC.
This is all the notable information that was revealed by the officialization of Dimensity 7100 and we are expected to see which other devices on the market plan to come equipped with this particular SoC.
