AMD has officially announced the FidelityFX Super Resolution 4 (FSR 4), the latest image enhancement technology based on machine learning
The FSR4 which is designed for architecture RDNA4, focuses on 4K upscaling and collaborates with technologies Frame Generation and Anti-Lag 2 for a smoother gaming experience.
According to AMD, the FSR4 will be supported exclusively by Radeon RX 9070 GPUs and from games that already support it FSR3.1, as the long-awaited Call of Duty: Black Ops 6. However, it remains unclear why the RX 9060 series or older RDNA3 GPUs are not listed.
This absence raises questions about the logistical requirement for the new 3rd generation AI acceleration cores introduced by RDNA4.
AMD's announcement of FSR 4 coincides with its launch DLSS 4 by NVIDIA At CES 2025.
The FidelityFX Super Resolution 4 is another step towards improving the gaming experience for demanding users and reflects AMD's competitive strategy in the field of graphics.
